Teeny Matte is an innovation of a mat that turned into a multifunctional mat in order to help people with moving disabilities. It is very convenient since they didn’t have to move around a lot when they use this mat. Users only have to open the mat and enjoy the benefits. For instance, studying and sleeping.The mat contains 3 layers on it 2 layers of foam and a layer of thin wood. Thus, we concluded to mix certain furniture on a mat such as desks, stools, storage, dustbin, and a place to rest. The furniture is definitely solid because we added a thin layer of wood to strengthen the foam at the second layer. To meet our criteria which is to produce a mat that can be folded and comfortable with many functions we have decided to use EVA as our main medium. Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) is a plastic made by combining ethylene and vinyl acetate. EVA is expanded or foam rubber, which is used for sports equipment padding. EVA usually is used in sports shoes to absorb impact shock. It’s very soft and elastic and it can be made into a plastic that’s like rubber, yet surprisingly tough. It’s considered to be a safe alternative to PVC. EVA can also be made into EVA foam, with the use of a plasticizer. Since EVA is biodegradable, it gets to protect the environment by decreasing the use of plastics. It is like killing two birds with one stone.In short, this Teeny Matte gets to help society especially the disabled and the environment. This innovation had been showing positive effects so far which proves that it is eligible to be chosen and loved.
