A report suggests that many types of food waste goes to landfill. It’s estimated that approximately 20% of produce or more gets thrown out for cosmetic reasons like weird shapes, odd colours, or blemishes on a peel. All those peels are also known as biodegradable wastes. The fruits are apples, oranges, cucumber, and more. Eating peels might sound weird, but it gives us a lot of benefits. But a lot of us do not understand all these kinds of benefits of fruits and vegetables. Those are not only good for health also for our skins, so to prove the statement we did a face scrub using apple skin, aloe vera gel, coconut oil, brown sugar. A lot of us might think these products might be dangerous for our skin, but all of those ingredients give a lot of benefits to our skins. For example, the peel of an apple is rich in vitamins and minerals. It contains polyphenols, an antioxidant that helps protect against ultraviolet radiation and leads to younger-looking skin. Apple peels are also rich in vitamin C, which prevents premature aging, and enhances skin glow. It also hydrates our skin, improves complexion and vision, aloe vera acts as a moisturizer. Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel, so it is perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion, coconut oil keeps our skin hydrated, brown sugar exfoliates dead cells from the outer skin gives the skin a shiny glow radiant glow. When applied to the skin, glycolic acid works to clear the bonds between the outer layer of skin cells, including dead skin cells. So the conclusion is to try to eat the fruits and vegetables with their peels.
